A decade back the ERP ecosystem (SAP+ partners) was the largest. Today ERP has been vanquished by the CRM ecosystem (Salesforce ++). Proportion of a company’s resources spent on marketing + sales has drastically overshadowed all other expenses.
How did this come about?
? The continuing evolution of mass production has made it more easier to make stuff at scale at even lower prices.
? Moore’s law sustained for over 50 years with practically every device, every mobile being a supercomputer of the past today.
? Marginal cost of producing digitalised products & service driven down to zero brought about by last decade’s Cloud & DevOps. Think about the cost of consuming a movie on Netflix vs. going to a multiplex.
Obviously, consumers will put on their ad-blockers, spam-protectors & truecallers!
And as a seller – we need to bring the world to our consumers. Either by taking the Apple/ Google way – with a lovely product /algo. #or the Amazon/AliBaba way – 1-1 delivery at scale.
We live in a world where all have a megaphone in their hands. Don’t lose it by shouting – sing a song that touches your audience & inspires them to action!
