How to get decision makers to come to your event:
There is a joke in Tech & Marketing circles about the proliferation of IT events. A Mumbai based CIO / IT Director/ Senior Manager can have his three times daily bread (breakfast, lunch, & dinner) taken care of 6 days of the week 250 days in a year – if s/he keeps attending IT vendor events!
People don’t come to an event for ‘gyaan’ anymore! They get most of the knowledge in the comforts of their office or homes! They come to be inspired, engaged, get visibility, get entertained, learn from each other & yes for drinks with friends! If you are doing an event – keep these in mind to get the best audience:
1) If its gyaan – it should be First of Its Kind / revolutionary /controversial- non salesy pitches that they hear for the first time & can apply to work immediately.
2) Some group engagement / work oriented games or non-standard entertainment mixed in.
3) A panel discussion where they get a chance to speak / get media/YouTube bytes.
